Entrepreneurship education can be considered as one of the important factors in developing entrepreneurial competencies among the students pursuing university education. The main purpose of this study is to examine the impact of entrepreneurship education in developing entrepreneurial competencies among the university students of Odisha. This is an applied and descriptive research. The data for the study has been collected through a primary survey using a structured questionnaire based on the objectives and the research questions taken for the study. A sample size of hundred students from post graduate department of commerce and MBA, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha (India) have been chosen. The above departments offer entrepreneurship as one of the subjects in their curriculum. To accomplish the objectives of the study the tools adopted are factor analysis and correlation analysis of the variables taken to define entrepreneurship education. For analysing the data, MS EXCEL and SPSS 17.0 have been used. This study has revealed certain significant findings like conceptual competencies and opportunity spotting have more impact on the students seeking entrepreneurship education. The findings also suggest that an entrepreneurship course in university curriculum may be suitably designed in order to motivate the bright students and develop their intention to become entrepreneurs.
