Customer and retailer perception towards local brand versus national brand with respect to packaged mineral water

Abstract

The present study basically measures the perception through different variables and identify the factors which stimulate the buying decision of both customers and retailer in buying local or national brand packaged water bottles. Many factors have been chosen for the popularity and sale of packaged bottles from the customer and retailer point of view. The main findings which came up after the research is that the variables of brand, quality, price and packaging has a significant impact on sale and popularity of the product. One interesting finding of the research is that there is a significant relationship between gender and influencing factor in buying packaged drinking water. It is recommended that as the drinking water is very crucial from health point of view, the manufactures should concentrate on the factors of quality, so that the proposition of buying packaged drinking water will get increase.
