The ever increasing importance of strategic leadership in today's business world: A conceptual study

In this dynamic world where changes are happening more rapidly and dramatically: technology, globalization, competition, and the rise of Asian business superpowers, have drastically reshaped the business environment as a whole. In such an alarming situation the need of the hour is having experienced people with well-developed leadership abilities and acumen by the organisations to deal with such a complex and dynamic environment. This paper will briefly examine and address the nature and importance of leadership and then gradually focus on leadership at senior management level of the organisation and particularly on the nature, the roles played and the style of leadership adopted by this critical group of management. Leadership is the panacea for the ever changing business situation and multiplicity of problems faced by the organisations.
