Sustainable rural development has been the major survival strategy of under developed and developing countries which is indispensable and inconceivable and it is impossible without micro level planning which is a judicious blending of economic, social and spatial planning, the basic principle of micro level planning is that the cultural, social, economic, political and natural environments and the locally perceived social and – situational needs and requirements deserve maximum conservation and the local resources be put into optimum utilization for achieving the goals and objectives of Rural Development. No doubt, the concept of rural development bristles with certain rural wealth, resources the Indian Policies and Programmes are at micro level. However, the inadequacies at local level in identification of the rural poor, implementation is an elaborative process. There are many areas which need to solve the problems such as better ranking at HDI (Human Development Index) and PQLI (Physical Quality Life Index) and long term planning at the National level.
