Sustainable agriculture and development has been the major strategies to curb effects of Drought in dry areas. In India and most of the countries, drought combat policies are absent. However these policies are based on short term policies. Hence need for long term Drought proofing policies. The effects of Drought results in land use, absence of rain and scarcity of fodder, drinking water for both human and livestock.
