Factors affecting the adoption of blockchain technology in supply chain in Indian Context

Despite the anticipated advantages and numerous announcements of pilot projects, there have been very few successful implementations of Blockchain technology (BCT) solutions in supply chains. Few people are aware of the obstacles to blockchain adoption, especially in the inter-organisational setting of a supply chain. A critical mass of supply chain actors must use the platform in order for BCT to be beneficial in supply chains, such as BCT-based monitoring and tracking. We provide a theory-based paradigm for BCT adoption within organisations. Using the suggested paradigm, a unique, in-depth, revelatory case study is conducted. Our case study clarifies the factors that are in favour of and against the adoption of BCT in the context of Indian businesses.
