Effects of Migration in Semi-Arid Nagarkurnool District of Telangana State

Abstract

Migration is a movement of men and their family members, along with livestock. During famine and drought as migration they migrate for income earning finding foliage and fodder for cattle and to run and meet their family expenditure of the migrant individuals. In Telangana and Study area as well as Migration is most common and has been famous as Palamur Labour. Even during good and normal rainfall years, migration of labour groups in Mumbai in Maharashtra and Bangalore in Karnatak States is common since old ages in migrated villages such as Jonnalaboguda, Basam, Pedda Kothapally and Dedinenipally and Tellarallapally, Migration is predominant and is of STs and Sherphard group such as Kuruva and Gollas move to the nearby forests of Srisailam for grazing sheep and goat rearing. To find pasture for livestock within migrants the are distant migrant and nearby migrants. In this in study village there are migrant and non-immigrants. Local distant migrants move along the nearby villages. To graze their livestock and working construction of roads and buildings and irrigation projects, check dam as they move to irrigation canals. In this study the mere socio-economic features, possession of land, cattle, livestock such as cows and calves, she buffaloes and bullocks and sheep and goats owned by of STs such as Tribal population are concocted and questioners and scheduled were canvassed to collect proper and relevant information on the required study Data were collected.
