Several Indian mathematicians have made notable contributions to functional analysis. Particularly in the field of Fixed point theory. Anita Tomar a Professor at Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya focus on fixed point theory and its application. Prof. Santosh Kumar from NEHU has also published extensively on Fixed point theorem in various metric space, R. Kannan (1968) Kannan pioneering study in fixed point theory led to significant result which is independent of Banach contraction principal.
