Abstract

This paper attempts to study the nature and pattern of citations to analyse how far Library and Information professionals have made use of web citation in comparison to other sources (books, journals, etc.) on the basis of three Indian journals. Journal-wise distribution, author-wise distribution, item-wise citation patterns, and citation occurrence have also been examined. It is observed that the trend of citation has slowly changed towards the web citation. Web citations occur more frequently in SRELS Journal of Information Management.
