Publication indicators in S&T studies: researchers’ limitations

Scientometric approaches lead to trace the evolution of the discipline over time that marks the changes and cognitive shift within a discipline and topicality. Such assessments are on the way to become standard tools of evaluation and analysis in science policy decisions. This paper investigates the usage of bibliographic databases as tools of scientometric research, identify the problems encountered in using the bibliographic databases as tools of scientometric research, to discuss and describe the nature and extent of problems of the scientometric researchers is using the bibliographic databases and suggest measures to overcome and control the identified problems.
