Abstract

In the present scenario work life imbalance has become a critical problem for most of the employees and employers. Work life imbalance affects personal and professional life of a particular person. An individual becomes a successful one, when his goals and time are properly balanced between work and family life. An employee failing in achieving work life balance suffers from psychological stress resulting in low productivity. In the olden days limited opportunities and restricted life contributed for a more balanced and happy life. Today, both the employee's and organization's expectations of life have grown leaps and bounds. Often it is observed that people are running towards more materialistic life, making an imbalance in their life. The research paper tries to explore the impact of work life imbalance on employee personal life in employees working in Insurance sector. Chi-Square analysis is used for testing the influence of Socio-Economic factors on work life imbalance. Thus the paper provides empirical evidence with the help of a model showing factors causing imbalance at home and its impact on employee personal life.
