Mutual fund investment popularity has increased drastically over the past two decade and playing a significant role in the Indian financial market.Mutual funds are working as a cheaper, quick and transparent investment tool in today volatile and glooming market environment. Therefore, the present paper examines the performance of 30 sample schemes of equity funds from growth option considering 15 from large caps and 15 from small & mid caps of selected from 3 private mutual fund houses of India for the duration of Jan. 2006 to July 2016. This paper further study the portfolio evaluation of selected equity growth schemes using volatility measures such as standard deviation, beta & R-squared and risk adjusted evaluation measures.
