Abstract

E-tailing is a major component of the growing e-commerce business. There has been a significant growth in the e-tailing business in India in the last decade. E-retailers are not only wooing the customers using the internet but also capturing the attention of the youngsters who are using smart phones through various mobile e-tailing apps. Social media has turned out to be a great platform for e-tailers to advertise for their products and services. Most popular websites include facebook, tweeter, In stagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, skype, youtube, google plus, etc. This study focuses on social networking website, Facebook and its role in generating revenues for the e-tailers. Online retailers are now having their own page on Facebook. In this paper, the attempt is made to examine the role of Face book in the growth of e-retailing business with reference to the state of Goa. It further evaluates the factors influencing the consumers to shop online. The study also evaluates consumers ’preferences about the e-tailing through Facebook with reference to the state of Goa.
