The current scenario with respect to management education is dismal. The liberalization process initiated in India in the year 1991 gave a major fillip for the industries. With this a demand was created for the best brains in management education to run these major industries. So this led to increase in the number of Management Institutions in India. There is no dearth for the quantity of Management Institutions, but, the problem lies with the quality. The growth and development of management education was enormous but now it has led to stagnancy and trend reversal. The higher education in India is regulated by many statutory agencies which have led to poor performance of higher education. The quality of management is suffering. So this has led to poor demand for the management seats. So this paper is an attempt to highlight the challenges & current trends in the management education and giving certain suggestions in order to improve the quality which will attract more number of students towards management education.
