Recently its fishery exports have been rejected by many countries because of the violation of human rights in the country especially of migrant workers who work in fishing industry. It resulted in loss of export revenue to Thailand. The shortage of workers in Thailand in fishing industry led to in migrants from neighboring countries like Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia etc. These migrant workers who enter lawfully or unlawfully are subject to much exploitation.
