Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the frequency of the researched determinantsand outcomes of absenteeism and thus create knowledge that can be used forfurther research. A systematic review, based on logistic sector factors influencing employees to absenteeism is considered for the study. A questionnaire is designed to gather data from respondents working for logistics companies. Finally, 240 respondents' opinions were analyzed using statistical tools. The article provides researchers with several starting points when researching the absenteeism and its possible determinants and outcomes. It also shows that there is an evident imbalance betweenempirical research dealing with determinants and research dealing with absenteeism outcomes. Employee behaviors stand out among the most common causes of absenteeism, while turnover, organizational wellness, and productivity loss are among the most studied consequences of absenteeism. Much research takes place in the manufacturing industries, followed by hospitals and other organizations of the public service, banks and insurance companies. This systematic review of literature is the first known attempt of this kind of review of the causes and consequences of behavior in absence. This covers a wide range of literature and contains over different determinants and consequences of absenteeism.
