The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the quality of public and private sports clubs in Kermanshah from the perspective of the customer. The study is a descriptive survey which was conducted in a field way. For this purpose, using cluster sampling method, 417 customers of state and private sports clubs (including bodybuilding and fitness and aerobics) with at least six months of exercise at the clubs were selected as sample (205 members of state clubs and 212 members of private clubs). The data collection tools was Inventory of China Liu (2008). The content and formal validity is confirmed by experts and the reliability was obtained through Cronbach's alpha coefficient (a = 0.91) T-test and Mann-Whitney tests were used to analyze the data. Study findings showed that there is a significant difference between the quality of the provided services in public and private sports clubs in the city of Kermanshah from the perspective of customers (P < 0.001). In addition, there is a significant difference in terms of quality of services including the tangible quality, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy in public and private sports clubs (P < 0.001). In all of the above, the quality of service offered to customers in private clubs is better than in the state clubs.
