Studying effective factors on parents participation for attendance in family education classes in Zarand country of Kerman

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the factors affecting the parents’ attending in the family education classes in the city of Kerman, Zarand area. This research is applied research and In terms of data collection is descriptive. The population of the study, were the parents that participating in family education classes of elementary, junior high and high schools of city of Kerman, Zarand area. The sample consisted of 412 parents that were selected in a way of multistage of elementary, middle and high schools. The assessment tools were a questionnaire with a reliability of 0.845 and SPSS software was used for data analysis. Results indicate that components such as the ability of the instructor, time, location, monitoring and education, parental income and educational level of students, has a significant impact on parents attending in family education classes. For example, teacher's ability, as the greatest factor, and after that respectively, the content of training, supervision, education, location and time of training courses impact on the parents’ attending in family education classes. While parental occupation, education level and demographic factors has no significant effect on the level of their participation in family education classes.
