The present study was aimed to evaluate the effects of static magnetic field (SMF) therapy on clinico-physiological parameters in rabbits. Twenty four apparently healthy rabbits were divided into 4 equal groups. A mid shaft, transverse, complete fracture of radius was induced using a gigli-wire in all the animals. Two block-shaped static magnets, each of 1000 Gauss constant strength, were applied at the fracture site, one medially and other laterally for a period of 2, 4 and 6 hours on daily basis for 8 weeks in the animals of groups A, B and C, respectively, with animals of group D serving as control (unexposed to SMF therapy). The SMF application, irrespective of duration at the fracture site, had no adverse effect on the physiological parameters, but showed a positive correlation with clinical parameters.
