A comparative study among the trained and untrained farmers with special reference to sugarcane production technology in Madhya Pradesh (India)

Abstract

A study was conducted in purposively selected Kareli block of Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh (India), which has maximum number of trained farmers, to assess the impact farmers training on in sugarcane production technology. Sixty trained and sixty untrained farmers (respondents) were randomly selected for the purpose. The study revealed that majority of respondents 60.0 and 58.3% in trained and untrained farmer's category, respectively, had medium knowledge about sugarcane production technology. Education was found to play important role in knowledge dissemination and was highly significant with knowledge and adoption of improved technology in both category of trained farmers and untrained farmers.
