Evaluation of poultry carcass meal as a dietary protein supplement in growth assessment of gold fish (Carassius auratus)
Abstract
The effect of total replacement of fish meal with poultry carcass meal on the growth efficiency of gold fish (Carassius auratus) was investigated. Gold fish fry were stocked in two cement tanks at a stocking rate of 15.1/m2. The control and experimental diets were fed at 10% of the body weight twice a day for 150 days. The growth of fish fed with poultry carcass based feed showed a remarkable increase in weight gain but no significant improvement in fish length.
