Report of dagger nematode Xiphinema americanum (cobb, 1913) (dorylaimida: Longidoroidea) from rhizosphere of apple trees in Kashmir (India)

Abstract
During a survey for nematodes in apple orchards in district Baramulla (Kashmir), dagger nematode Xiphinema americanum (Cobb, 1913) of order Dorylaimida and super-family Londidoroidea, was isolated from the apple rhizosphere. The presence of this nematode in apple as host is a new record from Jammu & Kashmir state. The nematode has been characterized, illustrated and described in detail in this communication.
