A field study was conducted in Rabi season of 2010 and 2011 at the Research Farm (SKUAST-K) on impact of integrated nutrient management on leaf yield, nitrate concentration of kale and soil properties under temperate conditions of Kashmir. The treatments were four FYM levels (0, 15, 30 and 45 t ha"1) and four inorganic nitrogen levels (0, 45, 90 and 135 kg ha"1). Results revealed that the maximum leaf yield of 616.68 q ha"1 was recorded with treatment combination of 45 t FYM and 135 kg N ha"1 which was at par with application of 30 t FYM and 90 kg N ha"1. Nitrate content increased non-signiflcantly with the increasing levels of FYM and inorganic nitrogen. Soil pH and EC were not significantly affected by application of different levels of FYM and inorganic nitrogen. The highest value of organic carbon, available N, P and K content of soil were significantly recorded under treatment combination of 451 FYM and 135 kg N ha"1.
