A pot culture experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the SKUAST-K farm during Rabi season of 2013–14. Polythene lined pots were filled with 5 kg soil of each location in randomized block design with three replications. Recommended doses of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium @ 120, 60 and 30 mg kg−1 N, P and K, respectively were applied through Urea, DAP and MOP respectively. The treatments consisting of four levels of boron (0, 1, 1.5, 2.00 mg pot−1) applied through borax. Among three hot water soluble CaCl2 and AB DTPA, only hot water soluble extractant was significant and positively correlated with bray's per cent yield and chemical properties such as pH O.C. and available nitrogen. The critical limit of boron in soil and plant was found to be 0.45 and 6.5 mg kg−1, respectively.
