Abstract

Morhological characteristics of the indigenous snow trout, Schizothoraxcurvifrons from Dal Lake Kashmir were analyzed using 11 morphometric and 5 meristic characters. The various morphometric characters compared showed high co-efficient of correlation (r) values, indicating that the characters were highly correlated to each other, thereby signifying homogeneity within the population. Based on the analysis of meristic characters, the fin formula of S. curvifrons can be written was found as D8–9 Pel8–11 P15–20 A6–7 C17–21.
