Abstract

This review is designed to present an overview of the exciting fields of nanotechnology and nanoscience that has become emerging field since last decade and covers a wide range of technologies which are presently under development in nanoscale. It is chiefly concerned with science, technology implications and future of nano, but some of the business and financial aspects are covered very briefly as well. Presently Nano is acting as hotspot in the scientific research and is playing a major role in the development of innovative methods to produce new products, to substitute existing production equipment and to reformulate new materials and chemicals with improved performance resulting in less consumption of energy and materials, to clean up toxins or oil spills, recycle all garbage, eliminate landfills, etc., so everyone should know a bit about it.
