A field experiment was conducted during 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18, to investigate the, “REY of the rice - mustard - cowpea cropping system influenced under conservation agriculture” at Agronomy Farm, College of Agriculture, Dapoli, Dist. Ratnagiri (M.S.). The field experiment was laid out in Strip plot design comprising of 15 treatment combinations replicated thrice. Horizontal strips consisted of five tillage and residue management treatments viz., T1: CT (Transplanted)-Conventional Tillage-Fallow, T2: CT (Transplanted)-Zero Tillage-Zero Tillage, T3: CT (Direct -seeded) - Conventional Tillage - Zero Tillage, T4: ZT (Direct -seeded) - Zero Tillage - Zero Tillage and T5: ZT (Direct -seeded) - Zero Tillage + Residue - Zero Tillage. The vertical strips consisted of three weed control measures viz., W1: Pendimethalin @ 1.0 kg/ha, W2: Pendimethalin @ 1.0 kg/ha + HW at 40 DAS/DAT and W3: weedy check. From investigation, it can be concluded that cultivation of rice, mustard and cowpea under zero tillage with application of pre-emergence herbicide oxadiargyl for kharif rice and pendimethalin for rabi mustard and summer cowpea reduced weed density with increase in total REY of the rice - mustard - cowpea cropping system in Konkan region of Maharashtra.
