Abstract

Present study deals with the investigation of studies on the primary productivity and fisheries potential of Daya reservoir, Udaipur district of Rajasthan. The study indicated that the mean primary productivity (GPP) of reservoir Daya was found to be 0.45 and 0.38 g C m−3 h−3 in surface and bottom waters respectively. On the basis of mean primary productivity, the fish potential of reservoir Daya was estimated to be 545.31 kg per hectare which showed considerable scope and potential for the enhancement of present average fish production level which is 118.56 kg per hectare/year.
