Studies on the planktonic diversity of Daya reservoir, Udaipur

Abstract

The present study deals with the investigation of the zoo and phytoplanktonic resources of Daya reservoir situated in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan. The study indicated that phytoplankton and zooplankton populations of the Daya reservoir were represented by 28 and 20 genera respectively, indicating fairly good genera and species diversity. The statistical relationship of zooplankton with total phytoplankton suggested the grazing action of the former on the latter.
