In this age of information technology revolution, electronic media like radio and television have been acclaimed to be the most effective media for dissemination of scientific knowledge to the masses, as they transfer modern agricultural technology to literate and illiterate farmers alike even in farthest areas, within a short span of time. Electronic media has great potential for influencing farmers to stimulate agricultural development. Keeping in view the importance, the present study “Role of Electronic Media in Dissemination of Farm Technologies in Tehsil Zaingeer (Bomai) of District Baramulla” was undertaken to assess the role of electronic media in dissemination of farm technology. Tehsil Zaingeer (Bomai) consists of 20 villages, out of which 10 villages were randomly selected for the study. A total of 120 farmers were selected by using proportionate allocation method. Majority of the farmers were satisfied with Butraat programme as compared to other televised agriculture programmes and rural programme as compared to other radio broadcasted agriculture programmes. Irregular electric supply and technical programme broadcast beyond the comprehension of farmer were found to be the most important constraints for watching television and listening radio agricultural programmes respectively. The results hence conclude that the existing duration of the programmes should be increased at the desired level in order to have the better participation of the farm community and should provide precise information about the weather forcasts, post-harvest technologies, market scenarios and should include seasonal based information.
