The age of information technology revolution, electronic media like radio and television have been acclaimed to be the most effective media for dissemination of scientific knowledge to the masses because they transfer modern agricultural technology to literate and illiterate farmers alike even in remote areas, within a very short span of time. Electronic media has great potential for influencing farmers to stimulate agricultural development. In district Baramulla tehsil Zaingeer (Bomai) consisting of 20 villages, out of which 10 villages were randomly selected for the study. A total of 120 farmers were selected by using proportionate allocation method. The study revealed that majority of the respondents (50.00%) were of middle age group (45–63 years), majority (23.33%) of the respondents had received education up to graduation and above graduation level. The size of land holding of small number of the respondents (3.33%) had (above 30 Kanals) and majority of the respondents (47.00%) were having agriculture and business as their main occupation. So far as extension contact is concerned (42.00 per cent of the respondents were having high extension contacts and small number of respondents (20.00 per cent) were having high innovation proneness.
