Predatory wasps are considered as one of the most important constraints to beekeeping industry. Identification of wasps attacking Apis mellifera in Zabarwan Himalayas, was done by the collection of predatory hornets at 3 sites viz, Apiary at RTCPPPM, SKUAST-K, Shalimar, Chak-e-Dhara and Rangil (Ganderbal). The population of hornet/wasps was considerably higher in the Apiary at Shalimar followed by Rangil (Ganderbal) and lowest at Chak-e-Dhara. During the period of investigation 947 hornets were captured all around the Apis mellifera honeybee colonies at all the three locations and were identified as Vespa velutina Lepeletier.
