Abstract

This study examines the information and communication technology (ICT) based tools and techniques utilized in the fisheries sector. ICT facilitated in the technological advancement at commercial and industrial settings as well as in fisheries sector research and development. The evaluation of various tools utilized in the study were drew upon research articles, scholarly reviews and authenticated manuscripts pertaining to the article's discoveries. These technologies have an immense potential in operational area at the grassroots level within the societies and fish farming communities in India. Despite growing digitalization, the adoption of these tools at the grassroots level remains limited. The study aims to identify how ICT can improve fish production, harvesting, processing, and supply chain management. The exploration and analysis of these technologies are beneficial for assessing the requirements and expectations of fish farmers in the fishing sector. The ICT technologies outlined were beneficial for the fish farmers, researchers and extension specialists to enhance their proficiency in terms of production and management as well as expanding of fisheries activities. The study contributes to raising the awareness among fishery stakeholders regarding the scientific utilization of ICT-based tools and it also prompts the researchers to explore further the technological advancements for sustainable development of fish farming.
