The common carp is a widely distributed freshwater fish known for its adaptable nature and ability to survive in various environments including derelict waters. The current research entails the examination of morphometric traits and length-weight relationship of the fish from River Jhelum, Kashmir. Varying degree of interdependence (R2=0.3042-0.969) was observed among the eleven morphometric traits studied. Notably, fork length and standard length exhibited the highest correlation with total length (R2 = 0.969 and 0.9658 respectively), highlighting a strong correlation among these morphometric characters. The length-weight relationship (LWR) was established as W=4.058L2.612, with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.881, indicating negatively allometric growth pattern.
