Abstract

Violence is everywhere and the issue of violence against women is grave. A vast array of behaviors, including prostitution, eve teasing, genital mutilation, sexual harassment, murder, rape and sexual assault, physical and mental abuse, battering, stalking, and pornography, have all been categorized as acts of violence against women. Although India is regarded as one of the cultural nation where women are revered, it has failed to provide protection for women in the current generation. In this paper we will study the nature of violence and understand the violence faced by employed and unemployed women. For the present data the study used secondary sources of information. Books, journal articles, working papers, thesis and e-sources are the primary sources of secondary data. From the study it has been found that there is a variation between the violence against employed and unemployed women in India.
