Abstract

The jasper jumper is a fixed function appliance which keeps the mandible in a protruded position by applying continuous light forces in the correction of skeletal class II malocclusions at the deceleration stage of growth for achieving stable results. An advantage of the jasper is that it is largely independent of the compliance of the patient and hence, is indicated in patients who have failed in this respect.
