Construction of a cut and cover station structure above two operating tunnels with a cover of 1.0 m presents design and construction challenges. The design has been prepared by considering the locked in forces and the expected displacements; both rigid body and due to ovalization. An elaborate instrumentation system has been laid down to validate the design, as well as to mitigate any condition exceeding the specified values.
