Polymeric Binder as a Performance Booster in Sprayed Concrete

Reboundloss and water ingress are major setbacks for the tunneling industry. Rebound results in loss of material, waste of time and resources–on the other hand poor water tightness often lead to extra work. Growth in tunneling industry has called for stringent requirements on these parameters. In consequence sprayed concrete market demands admixtures which could be used to control rebound loss and water ingress. This article describes a polymeric binder (ETONIS^®) that can reduce rebound and improve water tightness.
