Abstract

After the implementation of government policies on globalization and liberalization, the banks provide a variety of products and services to the customers. The various services offered by the banks can be utilized by the customers only when they are made aware of these services. The banker and customer have to know about one another. The banker has to understand the customers’ needs and in the same way, the customer has to know about the carious services offered by the banks. Increased level of awareness among the customers leads to increased preferences. The purpose of this study is to investigate the preference and satisfaction level of customers towards loans, deposits schemes, insurances and value added services rendered by private and public banks in Shivamogga district. The present study is to compare and analyze the customer preference and satisfaction towards banking services both private and public banks in Shivamogga district.
