Social entrepreneurship in a big or small way is happening all around us. People from all walks of life are developing and implementing innovative, effective and sustainable solutions in response to social and environmental challenges. These solutions include products, services and interventions brought to market by new startups and existing organizations, both for profits and non-profits. Social entrepreneurship is the use of startup companies and other entrepreneurs to develop, fund and implemented solutions to social, cultural or environmental issues. Multiple sectors, including health, the environment, education, agriculture, commerce, finance, retail etc., for profit entrepreneur typically measures performance using business metrics like profit, revenues and increases in stock prices, but social entrepreneurs are either non-profits or blend for-profit goals with generating a positive “return to society”. Today social entrepreneurship is facilitated by use of internet, particularly social networking and social media websites. These websites enable social entrepreneurs to reach a large number of people who are not geographically close yet who share the same goals and encourage them to collaborate online, learn about the issues, disseminate information about the groups events and activities, and raise funds through crowd funding etc. The present paper makes an attempt to evaluate social entrepreneurship in the present times, i.e., digital India`s impact.
