In the newly planted sugarcane crop, irrigation intervals of 08 days was very effective for decreasing the incidence of early shoot borer, followed by 16, 24 and 32 days irrigation interval. Higher cane yield per acre was also obtained under 08 days' irrigation intervals as compared to longer period of irrigations intervals.
