Abstract

Mulberry silkworm, Bombyx mori is prone to several infectious diseases caused by various pathogenic micro-organisms like, BmNPV, CPV, IFV etc. The diseases prevail throughout the year, and in tropics it is significantly high. Bacterial flacherie and cytoplasmic polyhedrosis accounts for major losses (48.9 and 35.4 per cent) in sericulture where as pebrine and muscardine are known to account for minor losses of 3.4 and 0.3 per cent respectively. The present investigation aims to check efficacy of three antibiotics viz., Oflaxacin, Acyclovir and Griesovin fp. with three different concentrations on bacterial, viral and fungal diseases in CSR2 X CSR4 race of silkworm, Bombyx mori L.
