Abstract

The present investigation was carried out with Asgandh (Withania somnifera) plants, raised in well mixed garden soil with @ 25, 50, 100 and 200g blue green algae (BGA)/kg soil treatment, On the basis of estimated values the maximum yield of 25 days old tops were observed at 200 g-BGA/kg-soil treatment, which was highly significant over control. Regarding catalase and peroxidase activity there was significant increase at 50 gBGA/kg-soil level and chlorophyll and ascorbic acid content at 200 g-BGA/kg-soil treatment as compared to control. There was significant decrease in catalase, peroxidase chlorophyll and ascorbic acid contents with further increase in BGA level as biofertilizers.
