The yield and nutrient uptake of Plantago ovata were studied using dual inoculation with AM fungi (Glomus fasciculatum), Azotobacter chroococcum and different levels of chemical fertilizers individually and simultaneously. The experiment was conducted in the herbal garden of Jamia Hamdard in 25 m2 area. Soil amended with chemical fertilizer and AM fungi generated encouraging results; plant/plot (30.76%), height of plant/plot (12.92%), no of flowering spike/plant (20.8%), length of spike (19.37%), seed yield/plant (23.91%) as well as seed yield/plot(66.7%), were highest with treatment T8 (Nitrogen, potassium and AM fungi) followed by treatment T7 (Poassium, AM Fungi and Azotobacter chlorococcum), T3 (Nitrogen and AM fungi) as compared to T1 (control). The minimum increase in plant growth parameter was recorded in T1 in which soil is amended with nitrogen and phosphorus.
