Abstract

An attempt was made to study in vitro screening of anti bacterial properties of leaf, stem and root of Anacardium occidentale L. in acetone and ethyl acetate extract. Acetone and ethyl acetate extract of leaf, stem and root found to possess good bactericidal properties against Bacillus megatarium, Micrococcus sp., Pseudom onas aeruginosa, Escherchia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. While leaf, stem and root extracts in ethyl acetate proves more bactericidal activity than acetone extracts.
