The present work was undertaken to develop a technology for increasing the income of fish framers through early breeding of Indian major carps under field conditions. Out of 45 pairs stocked in November, 34 pairs of fishes were found to be matured in April by using improved brood-stock management practices and intermittent doses of pituitary gland extract. Early breeding ensure the availability of fish seed from April to September. Fish Production increased by 750–1125 kgha−1yr−1 as fish fingerlings attain additional growth of 100-150gm in 3 months. Through this technology, fish farmers can increase their income by Rupees 37,500 to 61,875 ha−1yr−1 in the same pond and at the same stocking density.
