Sunflower leaf curl disease (SuLCD) is a recently reported disease in India. The survey revealed the occurrence of the disease in the range between 8.00–58.20 per cent. Twenty viruliferous whiteflies were required for 100% transmission of SuLCV from Sunflower to Sunflower. Among twelve plant species tested for infectivity by sunflower leaf curl virus, Nicotiana benthamiana, Lycopersicon esculentum, Zinnia elegans, Acanthospermum hispidum and Parthenium hysterophorus took infection and developed symptoms.
