Abstract

Peanut bud necrosis virus (PBNV), a tospovirus has become serious disease in major tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) growing areas of the world. The virus was obtained in purest form from naturally infected tomato sample. The virus was detected by DAC-ELISA using polyclonal antibodies against PBNV and TSV. PBNV was succesfully transmitted to Vigna unguiculata, Nicotiana rustica and Nicotiana benthamiana.
