In the present study 10 species of beetles belonging to 8 different families viz., Dytiscidae, Gyrinidae, Carabidae, Hydrophilidae, Chrysomelidae, Coccinellidae, Cerambycidae and Tenebrionidae were collected and identified in and around the Joysagar Tank of the Sivasagar District, Assam. Dytiscidae was the predominant family with respect to number and abundance.
