Stability Studies on Sewage Irrigation Effect on Grain Yield and Protein-content in Mungbean [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek

Abstract

Tengenotypes of mungbean viz., Samrat (PDM139), Kopergaon, MUM 1, RMG 62, Phule M-2, Pusa 9531, Vamban 1, PDM 11, PDM 96–262, PDM 99–284, were evaluated in four environments i.e. plain water (E1), sewage water(E2), plain water+15 kgN/ha (E3) and sewage water +15 kg N/ha(E4). The stability parameters, mean value (x), regression coefficient (bi) and deviation from regression (S2di) were studied for yield per plant and protein content in various environments. In the study significant differences were observed for genotypes in different environments. Treatment E1 gave the highest yield and E3 gave the highest protein-content. Variety PDM 11 showed high mean values for yield per plant in treatment E1, followed by PDM 96262 and for protein-content. PDM 11 and Phule M-2 both were found highly significant, they were considered to be stable genotypes in different environment.
